Study Feasibility.

Our first consultation involves a deep dive into your project’s feasibility. Together, we’ll explore a range of questions — from building siting to affordability to structural complexities to municipal permitting — that will help set the foundation for the budgeting phase.


Work the Numbers.

The first thing that most people want to know is how much will this cost? Our pre-commencement budget helps you avoid wasting cash by establishing some practical numbers for your project. It’s also a chance to understand any hidden costs that may impact your budget before jumping into design. Knowing your financial boundaries beforehand lets you take an informed step forward towards building your dream home.


Choose an Architect.

The next step is to match you with an architect that aligns with your stylistic vision and financial expectations. We work closely with many of Victoria’s top architects, so we can help guide you through important design buildability decisions that may impact your budget. We also offer a comprehensive Design + Build service if you prefer that we manage this process from start to finish.


Navigate Approvals.

One of the trickiest phases for any construction project is navigating through the various levels of approvals. When you work with Horizon, you can avoid the costly mistakes that befall so many. Our feasibility phase will remove most surprises, so you’ll avoid those frustrating delays after building starts. Any hiccups along the way will be handled efficiently by Horizon’s professional project managers.


Start Building.

With approvals in place, we start breaking ground with the removal of any existing structures and excavation of the site. During construction, one site supervisor is responsible for your project from start to finish. Our crews never bounce from site to site, leaving you with days or weeks of little or no activity.


Beyond the Build.

We take pride in being there for you long after the build, whether that means making recommendations on home maintenance or responding to your warranty requests. As a licensed, bonded, and insured builder you have added protection. And as long-standing members of the Vancouver Island Construction Association and the Canadian Home Builders’ Association, we adhere to BC’s strongest ethical and accountability standards.

The dramatic foyer and great room, the natural wood and concrete exterior, the tucked in positioning of the home on the site — it’s hard to pick a favorite feature of our home. In the end, we were amazed by how close the final outcome is to the original architectural renderings. It shows clearly how committed Horizon was to bringing our vision to fruition.
